Maintenance and Adjustments

Guitars and other Stringed Instruments are made primarily of wood
and because of this, they are still alive to some degree.  They are
affected by changes in weather, temperature and humidity.  As you
may have noticed, the action and playability of your instrument
changes with the seasons.  Here in New England, we can go from
99% humidity in the warm months to as low as 20% in the driest part
of the winter (in venues or homes with forced hot air heating, this
change can be more drastic and sudden).  Therefore, instruments
need to be adjusted periodically in order to remain at peak
performance.

Commonly referred to as a Setup, these
adjustments include:

*  Cleaning & Polishing the body, fingerboard and frets to get rid of
the old polish & playing residue.

*  Cleaning the electronics to get rid of the scratchy noises and dead
spots.

*  Cleaning and adjusting the tuners for more accurate and stable
tuning.

*Adjusting the action for a better playing feel and accurate intonation.

*Evaluation of condition.  If any problems or concerns arise, the
Customer is contacted before any work is performed.
